The Role

Lead the crew, own the accuracy

We're seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to lead field survey operations with accuracy, efficiency, and safety. You'll supervise a survey crew, manage equipment, and deliver high-quality data across a range of projects, including land development, construction, and infrastructure. It's a role for a skilled professional with a knack for precision and the leadership to bring a crew along with them.

Key Responsibilities

What you'll be doing

Lead and supervise a survey crew in the field, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule
Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction surveys using advanced equipment, including GPS, total stations, and UAV/drones
Plan and coordinate daily survey activities, including field notes, sketches, and data collection
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company standards
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to meet project requirements
Maintain and calibrate survey equipment to ensure optimal performance
Process and analyze survey data, producing detailed reports and deliverables

Qualifications

What you bring

3+ years of experience as a Survey Party Chief or in a similar crew-lead role
Proficiency with survey equipment and data collectors, including GPS and total stations
Strong knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and best practices
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and legal descriptions
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
Experience with survey software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D is an asset
